I believe Paul or Akim ultimately needs to approve it.  About the best I 
could do is review it and offer unauthoritative suggestions, but I'm too 
swamped at the moment.

Sorry for the silence on our part.  I think everyone must be very busy.  
On top of that, there seems to be some delay on completing 2.2, which 
needs to happen before the commit.  This probably adds to people's 
hesitance to even think about any new patches.

Please continue to hang on.  I'm sure people are still interested in what 
you're doing.  Sorry again for the delay.
