No we have a automake rules that do:
$(PERLMAGICK)/quantum/@address@hidden: $(PERLMAGICK)/quantum/quantum.pm
        $(AM_V_GEN) $(LN_S) $(notdir $^) $@

And it is surelly not portable ...
