The use of this patch on the scriptics server caused some interesting
exchanges in email between Don Libes and myself.

I had no clue this was in place on their servers and caused quite a bit of
confusion as to why Don and myself were getting different results from
doing checkouts.

I really really do like this feature though, and hope it makes it
mainstream.

However, Scott, I didn't see any test suite changes to support testing this
new feature.  Since you guys know the code the best, could you whip up
something?  History indicates that without such, patches usually won't get
accepted.
