dissapearing blank lines

Hi all,

I have some C source-code that I converted to postscript using a2ps (GNU
a2ps 4.13). This conversion worked fine and the whitespace between various
lines in the original source appears in the postcript output. I then used
ps2pdf to create a pdf of the source code. (Typing "gs -h" reveals I'm using
AFPL Ghostscript 7.00).

All blank lines that were visible in the postscript version have disappeared
in the pdf version. I have read documentation and FAQs for both a2ps and
ps2pdf and I'm completely stuck. Does anyone have any ideas?

(Both a2ps and ps2pdf are running on a Unix server, but the C-source code is
on a shared file-system, accessible by both Unix and Windows OS's.)
