On GNU Emacs 21.1, whenever I call "ls" list a large directory, the
listed columns are not aligned. To reproduce (on Unix):
M-x eshell
ls /etc/
The misalignment is due to the new variable-size fonts. The directory
entries are bold, and the extra width of the characters pushes
subsequent entries in the row to the right.
I would like to suggest making the eshell faces (defined in
eshell/em-ls.el) non-bold. Since they can still be distinguished by
color, and Emacs now supports color on ttys, I think there is little
lost by making this change.
Thanks,
