I see. When I install Emacs 21.1 and then use C-h i inside it, I not
only see what came with Emacs 21.1, but a concatination of other Info
stuff that has accumulated on my system from other packages.
OK. I have an idea that would make sense of the possible repeating
and reoccurring entries. Have lines added:

...
* MIME: (emacs-mime). The MIME de/composition library.
...
======= Info catalog from /usr/local/info/dir ===========
...
* CRIME: (emacs-crime). The CRIME de/composition library.
...
======= Info catalog from /usr/info/dir ===========

* BLIME: (emacs-blime). The BLIME de/composition library.
...
