[Bug-gnubg] HTML export

The following was posted in RGB, regarding the HTML export, but I also
added a couple of small suggestions of my own,

>From RGB:

Another good feature, but two problems:

1) "Red to play xx", "Black to play xx" doesn't work if my custom board
images are, say blue vs yellow. Can we find a way to add the piece
colour
to the html text without going as far as a search/replace "red to play"
with
"blue to play," etc?

AS - I agree this is bizarre. The easiest way to fix this permanently MO
is to just display the players, and not try to guess the colors. In
other words, it isn't Red and Black, but simply GNU and Albert.

2) The images look great, but on my 1600x1200 they only cover 30% of the
screen. Can the skillful team of gnurus add an option to alter the html
screen size?

AS - Hmmm.... 1600 x 1200 is very far from the normal, but perhaps the
PNG size slideruler could also determing the size of the HTML images.

Some personal suggestions now:

When I first began working as a designer for Convekta
(http://www.convekta.com) they also had an HTML export function that
produced results almost exactly as here. In other words, a series of
games or positions were all placed on an infinitely long web page. I
thought this idea was less than ideal, and made some changes. What I did
was have a couple of frames, in which one would show the moves, another
would show the board that NEVER moved, and a third at the top allowing
one to go from game to game, either by using the arrows (next game,
etc.) OR a drop down menu to immediately select the desired game. I
think this would work here. First let me show you a bit of what it
looked like in chess, though they made some changes of their own now:
http://www.convekta.com/Comgames/aeroflot.htm

At the top, one could place a similar menu to select the games of a
match or session, or simply use arrows for the next game. On the side, I
would propose a list of the moves plus arrows and a link to the stats.
Ex:

+--------------------------------------------------------------+
|Match to 5   Game 1: Albert 1 - GNU 6 (drop-down)  <--  -->   |
+-------------+------------------------------------------------+
|   Moves     |  <-- (navigate move) -->     Statistics (link) |
| +------------------------------------------------+
|42: 8/4 6/4 | |
|61: 13/7 8/7 | Board (or game/match statistics) |
| etc. | |
| | Below the board position one |
|list scrolls | can see the stats of the moves |
|up or down | or cube decisions. Board never |
| | appears to move making watching |
| | the games that much easier. |
| | If the stats are chosen, it shows the |
| | Stats instead of the board. |
+-------------+------------------------------------------------+

                                                        Albert

P.S. I hope this ASCII formatting comes out ok.
