Did you only exchange the DLL or also the corresponding headers?

And could you be so kind to send me your config and make-files again
for GTK+ 2.2? I had a few problems with undefined references while
linking (mostly g_type_check_instance_cast, g_type_check_instance_cast
and a few others).
