On the recommendation of expert players at First Internet Backgammon Service, I downloaded GNU. It seemed to download and install okay. I then downloaded the latest build, as instructed in the site: http://www.bkgm.com/gnu/AllAboutGNU.html. This also seemed to extract and install okay. But now I need help! Each time I try to activate the GNU, I get the error "This program has committed a fatal error and will be closed." What do I need to do, what have I done wrong?
Did you download and install the latest version from http://home.online.no/~oeysteij/ first? I suppose so, but better to ask. Then go to http://users.skynet.be/motiv4u/GNUBgW.htm and get the latest version and the newest weights file (at point 2).
Without further information on your operating system and how you proceeded in detail I can only speculate that you have the wrong weights version. However, the programme shouldn't crash. You could also elaborate on how to reproduce it and the exact error messages.
