This didn't work for me.  Is the syntax correct?  But it doesn't really 
matter, because your other instructions did work.  Thanks!

Let me mention that what I originally did was to go to gnubg.org and then 
scroll down to "New Packages for GNU/Linux distributions" and to click on 
"RedHat/Fedora".  I still think that this was quite a logical thing for me 
to do.  But it took me to an old version of gnubg.

I scrolled past "Building gnubg from source on Ubuntu" because I knew my 
system wasn't Ubuntu.  Now I see that in the smaller type it says "the 
steps should be similar for any type of linux."  Whoever the webmaster is 
for that page should consider changing "Ubuntu" in the title line to 
"Linux" so that others don't make the same mistake I did.
