Hi Hades,
The standard rules of backgammon do not allow for Beavers and Raccoons in match play. Therefore GnuBG allows them only in money play. This is unlikely to change in the future. Please see the section "Rules of the game" in the gnubg manual. In particular see the last sub-section entitled "Rules for Match Play". The last sentence of this sub-section states "Automatic doubles, beavers, and the Jacoby rule are not used in match play." So yes it is your mistake. :-)
