Glad you've finally sorted it.

You have to put the chequers on the board for the direction gnubg is set up to
play. You can't put men on the 24-point and then tell gnubg that it should be
the 1-point, and oh, these are the other guys men!

First set up the direction of play, then put your chequers on the board.
And yes, if you want to match colours up with you real board, then remember
that Player 0 sits at the top, player 1 at the bottom.

You're behind in the race and relying on your outfield contain the last man.
Hit and cover with 7/5* 6/3 looks like it gets gammoned too often, and the
reinforcements are far away.
You'ld like to stay back, but 6/1 wastes a valuable builder, which you must use
to improve your board.
I would play 6/3 14/12.

Cheers,
Ian

I'm pretty sure the 'position' (with regard to checkers) is set up correctly.
It's getting gnu to accept the 'direction' of real life play that's the
problem. I've attached a photo of the live game I am trying to reproduce in
gnu.

http://old.nabble.com/file/p35258103/bg%2B04%2B2013-04-04%2B21.49.48.jpeg

*The problem is, as red, moving anti-clockwise I can't find an easy way to make
my bearing off area be the bottom right quadrant in gnu*

>> You/Wayne (red) are the top player, moving clockwise to the top right.
>> Bob (white) is the bottom player, moving anti-clockwise to the bottom
>> right.

As I mentioned before, the colours are correct but the direction of movement is
not.

No we are not playing a monster backgame (would be interesting though!)

>> The chequers are arranged in a position that would be more commonly
>> found if red were playing anti-clockwise to the bottom right.
That is correct - red is playing anti-clockwise.

>> I suspect you've entered the position incorrectly.
That is correct. At this stage the gamestate is not correct in gnu. My point is
I am trying to find the right way to reproduce the gamestate and player
perpective in the real-life photo. It doesn't seem to be a straightforward task
with gnubg?

Thanks again for trying to help.

Thanks again,

I'm pretty sure player turn has been set to be red. Red (me) has rolled 3-2 in
the move list (move #4).

I've also attached a more detailed image of the GUI's red direction of play
arrow indicator (circled next to the 1-point)

http://old.nabble.com/file/p35257366/position%2B05%2Bwrong%2Bred%2Bdirection.jpg

This shows the red bearing off quadrant is at the top right of the board I
would like the red bearing off quadrant to be at the bottom right of the board
instead, if this is possible in gnubg.
