Well if you want to be sure it works, conifgure with --enable-fake-main:
cd gnustep-base
make distclean
./configure --enable-fake-main
make
make install
Perhaps you should ask on the discuss-gnustep@gnu.org list if there are
any special problems with SuSE. I'm not that familier with it myself.
