Hi,
I just installed Mandrake 7.1 onto my
system. I thought I was asking not to install a boot loader as I made a boot
disk. Therefore, when I rebooted my machine I was quite surprised to find that I
had several options, none of which included Win98.
I read the GRUB info files and modifed the
/boot/grub/menu.lst file as follows:
title Win98
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1
This brought partial success, though it asks for
a command interpreter at a prompt A>
it ignores all inputs from here and seems to
hang in an endless loop. Also, I have EZD disk manager on the 13GB drive, which
is why i did not want to mess with tis in the first place. I do realise that you
are not at fault, but I would appreciate any suggestions you might have in
helping me restore my orignal MBR. Your faq seems to say do an fdisk/MBR
from win98. that is fin if only I could get there.
Anxiously awaiting yourr reply, and thanking you
for your good work.
Regards,
D. Owsley
