As one of the people involved in the (several) migrations, could you
explain what was irritating about them?

The decision was made because it was a lot of overhead to maintain all
those CVS trees manually, and we were convinced that the upgrade would
only bring benefits: those who didn't want to use Savannah didn't have
to, they could still e-mail cvs-hackers and get results.

The cooperative spirit only exists where the work is being done
cooperatively.  On subversions, only about 3 people were doing the
work, so the decision to upgrade to Savannah was mostly up to them.

Anyway, I'm mostly just interested in hearing your feelings on the
subject, because I'm interested in finding resolution to this, if you
still see it as a problem.
