Booting DOS from /dev/hdc3

Hi List,

I've got a little Problem booting DOS from the 4th partition
of the second harddrive:

hdc1: 1 GB linux native
hdc2: 1 GB Linux native
hdc3: 128 MB Linux Swap
hdc4: 2 GB FAT16

First I booted from floppy and formatted the DOS-Partition using:

format c: /s

then in grub I used the following commands:

map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
rootnoverify (hd1,3)
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot

an the I got the message:

no system or drive error
change and press any key

What do I wrong ????
Any help would greatly appreciated.
