My idea was to use a different magic number for a new version of Multiboot
Specification. As any Multiboot-compliant kernel must have a magic number in
its Multiboot header, GRUB/PUPA can determine what a kernel expects. So if the
kernel specifies the old magic number, GRUB/PUPA may pass the old Multiboot
information, and if it specifies the new one, the new-style information may be

However, it would be painful to keep supporting two versions of the Multiboot
Specification. That's why I'm wondering what is the best way.
