...or, use a disk image file. Personally I prefer this to using real hardware
when debugging GRUB. Because GRUB never corrupt your hardware and you don't
need to execute the grub shell as the superuser.

It is easy to make a floppy image as a file (e.g. dd and mkfs), but it might be
difficult to make a hard disk image because of partitioning. I myself have a
modified version of fdisk for this purpose, and I sometimes use user-mode-linux
or bochs.

BTW, Robert, did you get a template of a request for your copyright assignment?
I asked the account maintainers to send it to you, but I haven't heard of it.
