Follow-up Comment #2, bug #24250 (project grub): I tried both the packages from the ubuntu intrepid repos (http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/grub-efi and http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/grub-common) and the sid repos (http://packages.debian.org/sid/grub-common and http://packages.debian.org/sid/grub-efi) Both of these packages still exhibit the same issue. I tried checking out the code from CVS, however ./configure yeilds checking whether `gcc' accepts `-fstack-protector'... yes checking whether `gcc' accepts `-mstack-arg-probe'... no checking whether target compiler is working... no configure: error: cannot compile for the target I am using gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7) on a 64 bit system (amd64 kernel/distro)(perhaps this should be a seperate bug report?) Please let me know if there are any patches I should try (but first I will need to figure out how to compile.) Would you prefer any followup posted on the debian bug? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?24250> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
