URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?32789> Summary: Puppy linux not found and Windows not found at first turn. Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: erikdirk Submitted on: Tue 15 Mar 2011 10:08:24 AM GMT Category: Installation Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: grub2 Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 1.98 Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: I did a clean install of Debian 6 (Squeeze) at my laptop. it uses grub 1.98+20100804-14 I did only get the startitems of Debian and Debian single in the grub.conf. When i did a update-grub Other operating systems were found: eg: Windows Recovery Enviroment (loader) (on dev/sda1) Microsoft Windows XP Home Editons (on dev/sda2) Puppy linux on dev/sda8 was again not found This uses an vmlinuz and a initrd.gz I have add an entry in 40_custom So it works. But i think it must be possible to autodetect these files also. Thanks Erik _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?32789> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
