Thanks. I tried the recent
tempura-stomach--20050625.tar.bz2 and it booted! 

I find the console response to be much faster than
gnumach. Have you given lot of printfs during the boot
code? The startup bootlog sequence on the T41:

It probes for floppy and spends lot of time there. Can
I disable the floppy detection?
