well, there already are some random/entropy translators out there, which
you might want to have a look at.  Have a look at the postings to this
mailing list's archives (available as mbox-files from
ftp://lists.gnu.org/).  

Furthermore maybe have a look at this project:
http://ibofobi.dk/stuff/hurd-entropy/

I need to admit that I haven't looked at any of the entropy projects
myself. Maybe someone else wants to chime in here ...

Having said that, I just want to encourage you to have a look at
translator coding.  I think it's a very good starting point to get into
coding for the GNU Hurd and once started out with cvsfs on my own ..

If you haven't done so, you maybe want to have a look at the translator
with list at the Hurd Wiki [1] to get some more inspiration :-)
