Unf. The documentation is incorrect and you just added more incorrectness.
The API is *not*
        lt_dlhandle lt_dlopenadvise (const char *filename,
                                        lt_dladvise *advise)
Check ltdl.h:
        lt_dlhandle lt_dlopenadvise    (const char *filename,
                                        lt_dladvise advise);
                                                   ^^^^^ no pointer here!!!
