        I'm posting this to thank all the ppl, involved with parted. What
it helped me do, was to clean out the entire hardisk , delete all the
partitions, but still keep important data ( 1 GB) safe, though it wasnt
backed up. ;-)
        i might add, i did a bit of acrobatics with parted, and fdisk, and
the bios, to get it done, but right now, my hardisk is exactly how i need
it. 
        One suggestion, can u make it the default partition creator in the
major linux distros ?
