I should mention to you all that Debian's boot (install) project is working
on a new installer, which will replace boot-floppies (thank goodness) :).
This new installer is likely to use the libparted API to partition hard
disks. Discussions are currently under way on address@hidden,
(list archives are at http://lists.debian.org/).
