There is no easy way to see if it a valid partition, you could mount it
or check for swap space, but ... 
I would display them as free partitions.

No idea about third party tools like FWB. We should ask these guys
directly or the people at LinuxPPC Inc., they bundle a FWB tool with
their distro.
