Hi,
I'm trying to create a prtition on my linux system. I need a 1GB
partition on my sda. The print command gives:

(parted) p
Disk geometry for /dev/sda: 0.000-8683.222 megabytes
Disk label type: msdos
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags

1 0.031 47.065 primary ext3
boot
2 47.065 7397.116 primary ext3
3 7397.117 8675.727 primary linux-swap

I need to resize Minor 2 so that it will have 1 GB less than the current
size. And then create a new partition of 1 GB from the space thus
obtained, this partition should be
ext2.

Are the following commands proper for the above requirements:

resize 2 47.065 6397.116
mkpartfs etx2 6397.116 7397.116

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

thanks
rithin.
