Hello.

I'm a Mandrake8.1 (Linux) user.I want to resize
the partition on my disk, with a tool called "Parted".
( see: http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/ )
It is suppose to do : creating, destroying,
resizing, checking and copying partitions.

BUT the tricky thing is if you want to manipulate
the root ("/") partition. -Then I have to make a
"boot disk", and with the "parted" program, I believe?

I can't create this, a "boot disk" etc.
And the documentation on there web-page, on this
matter sucks.

I downloaded all (strange) package they provided,
and tested all possible ways I believed was described
in that document.. But noo.( Lucky for me, there was
a "parted".rpm on the Mandrake_installs, because I
could not compile it ether ( it asked for the source
for e2fs..bla)).((( I have tested a dos-program
"FIPS", ones, and that splits partition,, so I'm not
stupid. )))

I WANT, a boot-disk with the program "parted".
( Or maybe a other possible way to solve the same
thing..)

Here is the additional data ( that I saw that others
have included, while searching on Goggle ).

"df" returns:

"Filsystem Storlek Anvnt Tillg Anv% Monterat på
/dev/hda7 2.2G 1.9G 261M 88% /
none 62M 0 61M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda9 1.4G 170M 1.2G 12% /home
/dev/hda1 7.9G 5.9G 2.0G 74% /mnt/win_c
/dev/sda1 4.0G 3.4G 677M 84% /mnt/win_c2
/dev/hda5 3.9G 2.4G 1.5G 60% /mnt/win_d
/dev/hda6 16G 16G 423M 98% /mnt/win_e"

And "fdisk -l /dev/hda" returns:

"Disk /dev/hda: 255 huvuden, 63 sektorer, 4111 cylindrar
Enheter = cylindrar av 16065 * 512 byte
