mkfs problem in Parted-1.6.20

Hello everyone.

I have compiled the latest Parted-1.6.20 and found the "mkfs"
comamnd does not work well. The command silently aborts
immediately after the execution, without creating a filesystem.
I tried with several filesystems: ext2, fat32, linux-swap, without
success.

In the previous verson 1.6.19, it works fine.

If the phenomenon depends on my environment, I can be more specific
in log message, etc.

This is a quick report, and I'm going to examine the source code
to locate the difference.

P.S.
Here's the output of "parted /dev/hda print", although I don't think
it gives a clue to this matter.

    # parted /dev/hda print
Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-28615.781 megabytes

Information: Don't forget to update /etc/fstab, if necessary.

    # parted -v
    GNU Parted 1.6.20
