I've just been talking to Hans Reiser and all after loosing a load of data using qtparted who pointed out that it is NOT written by them and is buggy as hell. (Enough to lose my data anyway). They are pulling it off their ftp site to avoid misleading people, but can I respectifully suggest you shell out to resize_reiserfs to do the dirty work of resizing.
Maybe it's not neat, but its neater than totally trashing 30G of data.If you won't do this, please change gparted and make it not merely warn people to backup data, but point out that there is a >90% chance they will actually lose all their data. Oh, and disable the OK button so they still can't do it.
If you need further convicing, realise that I felt strongly enough to shell out $25 support to namsys for my problem - not to recover the data which was long gone, but to help fix it to "save the world" for everyone else.
Please... Sam
