Could we throw the input to the list through SpamAssassin or CRM114 or something, and discard everything above a ludicrously high cutoff (say, a SA value of 7.0) before putting it in the archives/ redistributing to subscribers? Failing that, at least tag it with [*PROBABLE SPAM*] or something? That would probably filter much of the spam, and lose few or no bug reports.
