The resizing test using the parted git repository (May 1st, 2010) has completed 99,999 iterations successfully. This concludes the test. The problem with "failure to inform kernel of partition changes" did not occur during the test. Based on this testing it would appear that this next parted version will be at least, if not more robust than version 2.2 with respect to this problem.
