Yes, this doesn't work in the stand-alone Info reader.  I will see if I 
can fix that.

Sorry, this comment isn't helpful.  It hints that there are gobs of bugs 
and misfeatures in the Info reader, but you didn't say what they are.

The fact is that the Info reader gets *lots* of attention.  Just look at 
the ChangeLog in the Texinfo distribution, and you will see how many 
changes, improvements, and bugfixes went into it lately; the NEWS file 
should also give a clue.  Last, but not least, you, of all the people, 
should have a good idea about the high priority that Texinfo maintenance 
reserves for the Info reader from the typical reaction to bug reports you 
post here.

In my opinion, basic browsing with Info is quite intuitive: you use the 
normal cursor motion keys to navigate, you have SPC that goes through the 
entire manual in the natural order, and you have TAB and RET to follow 
cross-references.

There's always place for improvement, but the way to improve a program is 
to tell what's wrong instead of accusing maintainers of not even trying.
