As mentioned in another thread, I think the way you suggested to
``fix'' --iftex, i.e. stop it from expaning @tex blocks, is wrong.  I
agree that it would be nice if it didn't choke on raw TeX, but IMHO
disabling @tex under --iftex is not the way to do this.
