does stand-alone info not keep a search history?

Hi,

Often, after I have searched for something, I want to
search for something slightly different.  But when after
typing / in info, I type <Up>, info says: ['Up' is invalid].

It would be nice if an <Up> retrieved at least the last
search term so that it can be edited.  Still nicer would
be to keep a completely history of all search terms used
during this session, so that <Up> and <Down> can browse
through them -- just like in less and nano and vim and
probably other programs.
