I'm looking forward to having this resolved. My own email to the GNU
licensing folk (a while back, perhaps I should make time to resend and
follow up) doesn't seem to have had any effect.

In particular, I'd rather just change the copyright+licence headers once
and be done with that issue, and have that reflected in some upcoming
source release. That'll help prevent more situations like Hugh's, where
someone wants to use the code -- but can't, because of the licensing
questions about the "library exception".

I thought I'd made such a statement very early in this thread:

  http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/classpathx-discuss/2001-August/000064.html

as well as on the "subproject" webpage (detailing the "exception"):

  http://www.gnu.org/software/classpathx/jaxp/jaxp.html

That comments that the intent of the "exception" is to permit its use with
non-Free software, which clearly includes commercial use.
