Hi guys,

There was some discussion back in August about whether or not CVS would
continue to be buildable by MSVC5, and when I mentioned that I had MSVC6
available and could install it along with MSVC5 for building CVS, Derek
replied with, "It would be useful, as long as the CVS-Windows folks are
willing to continue supporting both platforms." But since MSVC5 had been
sufficient to build CVS (until about two weeks ago), I simply put off the
upgrade to version 6.

Well, it now seems that either the CVS-Windows folks are no longer willing
to support MSVC5 (which really isn't all that surprising), or simply cannot
support it due to new requirements or features added to CVS since June 14
(which was the last successful build of TRUNK).

If MSVC6 is now required to build CVS, I will be happy to install it.
However, I am expecting to replace that particular machine (where the
nightly build executes) with something a little newer/faster in a week or so
(hopefully sooner, I just don't know when it will be available). Therefore,
if y'all can hang out and be patient for just a little while longer, I
should have CVS building with MSVC6 soon.

- Dennis
