Compiling DDD on Solaris (2.5.1 & 2.6)

I hate to keep asking this same question but I would like to get DDD running
on SunOS but can't compile it.

Has anyone been able to resolve the following "configure" error. Even if I
explicitly tell configure where the X11 libraries are I still get this error.

checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11... no
configure: error: The X11 library '-lX11' could not be found.
                  Please use the configure options '--x-includes=DIR'
                  and '--x-libraries=DIR' to specify the X location.
                  See the files 'config.log' and 'ddd/config.log'
                  for further diagnostics.
