I wouldn't call it "hostility" it's just that
1) If I develope free software I don't want to have to use not-free
tools. And I don't want to force people to buy not-free tools in
order
to use my software. Nor should my free software be dependent on
not-free systems (like say SQL server.)
2) I don't own and have no need for MS Windows and so I can't offer
help.
3) Most people who believe in free software enough to invest hundreds
of hours of their time simply have no ue for a company so anti-free as
MS.
