I am very much interested in the same. Specifically, I'd like to get it on 
embedded Linux running off a virtex-4 FPGA. This module from 
hydraxc(http://www.hydraxc.com/) has a USB2.0 port and is the size of a 
stick of gum.

Seems like one should be able to connect this to a USRP with a 100 MHz PPC 
linux to process at least a couple hundred kilohertz bandiwidth. The ehci 
driver should already exist so I guess it's just a matter of getting python 
to run on it and setting up a cross compiler environment for the c++ files.

I have a USRP and I've ordered a hydraxc. Let me know if you want to pursue 
further. I don't have much time to throw at it, but I can at least try some 
things out to gage how much work is involved.
