Hello Martin,
Where did you got this patent done in US or Abroad?.
USA
Can you please point to it ?.
US Trademark Office doesn't list " Provisional Patents "
Is the patent granted or in application/review stage ?.
Granted on March 20, 2013 upon my 2nd Demonstration of the device before the Chicago Android & Google Technology Users Group.
Hi Matt
Does the patent impact the Ettus/NI Current/Future SDR products and hence clipping wings of free/open source nature of gnuradio in anyway?.
This is Martin O'Shield answering:
1. NOT AT ALL! This is simply another SDR Device that works with existing GNU Radio Applications, & OpenBTS, but does not require the additional daughtercards, cables, etc.
2. The Ettus USRP1 & USRP2 Schematics were released, but NEVER the Layout/Design files = Gerber Files.
3. This allows people to have inexpensive choice of Wideband SDR Transceivers available to them for their Open Source GNU Radio demands / needs.
Thanks,
Justin Bracken
The same stuff you are doing with GNU Radio today, that requires the traditional USRP Driver, will work with this device.
