Mpir Installation

Hello I am trying to install Mpir on Ubuntu bat get error when I give the command ./configure && make && make install

Or just   ./configure .

I have done in terminal:

 

git clone git://github.com/wbhart/mpir.git mpir

cd mpir

./configure

 

When I give the last command I get:

 

bash: ./configure: File o directory non esistente

 

Where  am I missing?
