Thanks much. Something to that effect would have probably been
my next attempt since I carefully checked the configure options
and could not find anything. On the other hand and being very
inexperienced in these matters of concurrent versions of the 
compiler on the same system, I am still a little concerned that
the headers & lib's that will be pulled in by the make(s) might
not be consistent. I guess my best bet is just to give it a shot
and see what happens. Thanks, Chris.
