Hello all,
Under win2k pro, I compiled the last
stable releases of gnustep with Mingw32
and the MSYS1.08.
I followed the complete guide specific
to mingw, and I always check also the Unix
installation guide, all was really clear
and I had no problems for compiling.
The last step was to compile the examples
because I wanted to see something appening
on my screen using gnustep.
The compilation aborted after having
sucessfully compiled the calculator.app
I launched the Calculator launch script
located right under Calculator.app, then the
problems appear:
I saw messages indicating that the default
time zone where not defined, followed by a long
time out where a service was triyng to do something
on a tcpport. after wating 30s a white empty box
appeared on the upper left part of the screen and
a window called Calculator appeared on the middle
of the screen, it had a caption but no content.
one second after the application crashed with an
unandled exception message.
I saw in the other messages in this group that
people where more lucky, and could have something
correct on the screen winth the win32 back end.
Have you any advice, maybe i should test
another example. maybe some one can post a sample
app that should compile and run for sure under win32
any help appreciated.
