Pete,

I'm putting together new and modern ebuilds for GNUstep on Gentoo, and during my initial phase, I've had moderate luck running GNUstep on AMD64 ... I don't have graphical access to a box, so I',m stuck for testing. However, some users reported only general sketchiness and most apps would bomb out after clicking "apply" in any prefernces window.

If libffi is your problem, please find a copy of my libffi ebuild that is against 3.4.1 for amd64. Ebuilds aren't terribly hard to read, and this should put your in the right direction.

... if you have any luck with this, please let me know. There's a good handful of Gentoo AMD64 users who wanted to give GNUstep a go.

I am running FreeBSD 5.2_CURRENT, cvsupped from earlier this evening, and the native compiler is gcc 3.4.2 - any suggestions as to how I might get
libffi (or ffcall) installed ?
