As an aside, my OSS and ALSA backends (others are planned/protocol
defined) are nearing a point where I'm comfortable with talking about
them as they are not vapourware any longer ... well, to me at least.
:-)  I think other "hardware interfacing" and "simply required"
technologies are really important to attract "developer users" -- i.e.
if GNUMail.app and Cynthiune or MPDCon didn't exist, I probably
wouldn't be bothering with GNUstep too much ;-).  Camera.app, Burn.app
... I think these are all incredibly imporant applications to have, if
a GNUstep based Desktop Environment will ever have a sense of self.
