Hello all,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I just tried to install some of the packages below on Quantal (XUbuntu flavour), and it seems it won't work. First, adding the given repository line to /etc/apt/sources.list ends up in an error (Malformed line in source list / The list of sources could not be read). So I had to change the line to:
deb http://coyote.octets.fr/pub/gnustep/packages/quantal/i386 . .
(It looks like Quantal needs 4 components on the line). But it still doesn't work: when I do an apt-get update, I get:

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

and the package do not show in the software center, only the old Ubuntu versions.

I tried other entries in sources.list, like:
or:
but these do not work either: it seems it always wants to get something in a binary-i386 subdirectory, which does not exist.

Am I doing something wrong? Any solution for this? I'd really like to have an up-to-date GNUstep distribution...

Thanks!

Excellent! Would you also care to tell the occasional observer where
these packages can be found? Ideally in an Ubuntu PPA, or course.

Yeah, I probably should send the whole announcement each time, sorry
about that. Here it is.

Hi all,

I updated packages for precise and wheezy (for both i386 and amd64) and
for quantal and sid (amd64 only).

Packages list :
* gnustep-{make,base,gui,back} and related dev packages
* gdl2
* easydiff
* edenmath
* pantomime
* gnumail
* gorm
* projectcenter
* gworkspace
* gnustep-examples
* laternamagica
* lusernet
* notebook
* poe
* terminal
* textedit
* systempreferences
* vindaloo (with iconkit and popplerkit from Etoile)
* waiho
* renaissance
* zipper
* helpviewer
* cynthiune
* dbuskit
* addressmanager

* opal
* quartzcore
* performance

Everything is under the following url :

http://coyote.octets.fr/pub/gnustep/packages/

For example, for precise x86 you can add to sources.list :

deb http://coyote.octets.fr/pub/gnustep/packages/precise/i386/ ./

Please let me know if you find this useful, if a package is broken, if
you would like to add another package to the list etc.

Thanks,
Philippe
