May I suggest to add some code that makes sure that
"localhost.localdomain" is never considered a FQDN, even though it
contains a dot?
Does this mean the literal string "localhost.localdomain",
or are those metasyntactic variables that stand for something else?
Is it common for `localhost.localdomain' to appear as a host name?
If it is those literal names, it seems like a reasonable idea;
would you like to write the patch?
