Of course, there is, in the sense that several pieces of the puzzle are
already written, but there's still a fair bit of glue to write.  For one
thing, Gnus's mime-composition uses a different input format than Gnus's
mime-display output-format.

Then of course, there's the issue of making sure that the encoding is
done reliably without any loss of information, which probably means that
the decoding itself should be careful to preserve all the information.
