64bit works fine for me:
GNU Emacs 23.1.50.2 (x86_64-apple-darwin10.0.0, NS apple-appkit-1038.11)
of 2009-11-09 on ate.maierh
$ file Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs
